More about Learn To Fly...

harp crossing

What a wonderful journey it's been....

Thanks to our musical friends:
Pam Mason on acoustic bass, Ken Shorley on percussion, Glenn Coolen on Uillean Pipes and whistles, Troy MacGillivray on fiddle, John Meir on Banjo, Jim McCready on blues harp, and Ardyth's own “Uncle” Hugh Sweeney on trumpet.

Learn To Fly is a collection of songs about the journey we're all on. “Just Summer” is about Halifax, which grabbed me and held me captive from the road, and the rest... well they all tell a story...

The songs for this CD have been “simmering” for a while, and we are really happy with the arrangements we have come up with.

In fact, everything has come together really well- Pam made our studio time comfortable and creative, and we have enjoyed the entire process, recording, editing and mixing. Having Steve put the finishing touches on it by mastering was icing on the cake. To top it all off, Brad's incredible graphics have captured the spirit of the CD and the fun of being on the road.

I am going to try and figure out how to put samples up on the website... hopefully within the next little while you'll be able to hear some of the songs for yourselves... but if you can join us at one of our concerts we'd love to see you!

The songs on the CD are:

Just Summer, Still Waters, Shule Aroon, Learn To Fly, Slippery Jig, The Water Is Wide, Old Friend, A Toast, Dans En Dro, Me & My Moon, Roadsong, Gypsy Rover, and of course we couldn't leave out the Irish Blessing...
